New COVID-19 Kenya Cases -Females Outnumber Males

For the first time in Kenya, the number of COVID-19 new female infections has outnumbered that of new male infections. This is according to the today’s numbers announced by Ministry of Health. Today Corona Virus Kenya updates were done by MOH Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman.

The total number of new Corona virus infections in Kenya was announced as 151. This was the number of those that had tested positive in the last 24 hours. Rashid Aman stated that the new number comes from a sample size of 2,552 people tested. The new numbers mean that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 35,356.

Demographics of New Kenya Corona Virus Infections

The ministry announced that out of the 151 new positive corona virus cases, 74 are males while 77 are female. This is the first time males have been outnumbered by females since the pandemic started. The oldest person was said to be 74 years old. The youngest was three years old. Only two people were said to be foreigners.

As of today, the ministry of health has tested a cumulative number of 479,697 people. This is since the first corona virus case was announced by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.

COVID-19 Recoveries in Kenya

On a positive note, Rashid Aman announced that 173 people had recovered from Covid-19. Of this number 66 were in various hospitals around the country. The rest 107 were from the Home-Based Care Program that was launched by CS Kagwe. Kenya now has 21,483 people who have recovered from the disease.

Kenya has in the past days seen a reduction in the new corona virus cases being announced. This comes as global med companies try to develop a corona virus vaccine. There are promising results as majority of companies developing Covid-19 vaccines are in phase three of development. This is according to the World Health Organization.
