Coronavirus Kenya Updates Today – Wednesday May 13 2020 | Covid-19 News

The Kenya Ministry of Health has in the last 24 hours tested 1516 samples for covid-19, bringing the total of samples tested so far to 35,432. Out of the samples tested, 22 people have tested positive for corona virus. 21 are Kenyans and one is a Ugandan National.

While making the announcement, Health CAS Rashid Aman said that the youngest positive case is 20 years old and the oldest is 81 years. 17 are Males and 5 are females.

Out of the same samples, 25 individuals who are truck drivers from Tanzania also tested positive at the Namanga border and were referred back to Tanzania.

The following is how the cases are distributed by county:

  • 10 Nairobi
  • 8 Mombasa
  • 3 Kajiado
  • 1 Bomet

Bomet becomes the latest County to record a Covid-19 case.

The distribution by estates is as follows:

Nairobi;

  • Embakasi (4) cases
  • Kamukunji (3) cases
  • Kibra (2) cases
  • KNH (1)

Mombasa;

  • Mvita seven (7)
  • Nyali one (1)

Kajiado

  • Namanga (3) cases

22 people were discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of coronavirus in Kenya recoveries to 281.

The CAS also announced that 4 patients have died to Covid-19, two in Nairobi, one in Mombasa and one in Bomet. This brings to 40 the total number of those in Kenya who have lost their lives from the Covid-19.
